The low tundra contains many lakes, ponds, rivers and streams of all sizes. Along most shores you’ll find mainly black spruce along with some white spruce. There were also scattered larch near our starting point but these quickly petered out as we headed north. There are also many low shrubs… willows, dwarf birch and Labrador tea in these areas.

The shore line is mostly rocky, but there are a surprising number of sandy beaches which make the best camp sites.
