NWT Canoe Adventure by F.R. Gorga | ||||
The low tundra contains
many lakes, ponds, rivers and streams of all sizes. Along most shores youll
find mainly black spruce along with some white spruce. There were also scattered
larch near our starting point but these quickly petered out as we headed
north. There are also many low shrubs
willows, dwarf birch and Labrador
tea in these areas.
The shore line is mostly rocky, but there are a surprising number of sandy beaches which make the best camp sites. |
